Roulette quick facts

Every indexed bet has the same expected return.

The differences between bets are hit rate, payout size, and variance — never base expected return.

Pick a goal, then pick an indexed bet. The numbers come from the current wheel and payout table.

What are you trying to do?

All 18-number even-money bets (Red, Black, Odd, Even, High, Low) share the highest hit rate at 18/37. Red is not safer than the others.

Lower

Every indexed bet has the same gross return. The difference is how often it hits, how large the payout is, and how wide the swings are.

Split, Street, and Corner are not in the verified payout table, so this calculator does not assign them real-casino odds.

Best Roulette Bet for Your Goal

There is no single best bet. The right bet depends on the goal, because every indexed bet returns the same on average.

Highest chance to win one spin

Red, Black, Odd, Even, High, Low

The widest indexed bets cover 18 of 37 results and hit about 48.65%. That group is color, odd/even, and high/low.

Biggest payout

Single Number

A single number pays 36× gross. It hits the least often.

Lower variance

Red, Black, Odd, Even, High, Low

Any 18-number even-money bet — Red, Black, Odd, Even, High, Low — has the same distribution and the same variance. Red is not the safe one; they are all equal.

Higher variance

Red → Single Number

A single number swings the most, with the largest payout and the lowest hit rate.

Base expected value

All indexed bets are identical. No bet has a better base EV than another.

Why every indexed bet has the same EV

Exact indexed calculation

Gross return is hit chance × payout. Every indexed bet reduces to the same fraction.

  • Red covers 18 of 37 results: P(Red) = 18 / 37 ≈ 48.6486486%
  • Gross = 18/37 × 2 = 36/37 ≈ 97.2972973%
  • Single Number: 1/37 × 36 = 36/37
  • Dozen / Column: 12/37 × 3 = 36/37

This is not an approximation. All current indexed bets package the same gross = 36/37.

Why did Red, Odd, or High lose on 0?

0 is not in any standard even-money group.

Zero is not Red or Black, not Odd or Even, and not High or Low. Those bets only cover 18 of the 37 results, so one result always loses for them. That missing slot is where the 2.7027% edge comes from.

  • Even-money group covers 18 of 37 results.
  • P(hit) = 18 / 37 ≈ 48.6486%
  • P(miss) = 19 / 37 ≈ 51.3514%
  • Edge = 19/37 − 18/37 × 1 = 1/37 ≈ 2.7027%

GWYF vs real-casino bet types

GWYF uses 37 outcomes (0–36) with red/black, odd/even, high/low, dozen and column. That looks close to European Roulette, but it is not the same product.

Do not assume every real-casino Roulette bet exists in GWYF. Only the indexed bet types below are verified.

Verified indexed bet types

Unsupported real-casino bets

The current verified GWYF payout table does not include Split, Street or Corner, so this guide does not invent odds for them.

Outside casino rules like neighbors, orphans, voisins and basket are also not part of the GWYF table.

Does All on Red require betting on Red?

No. The name is just the achievement name. The extracted condition is a qualifying Roulette win at or above the bet threshold — it does not require a Red selection. Do not add a bet-type rule the production condition does not have.

Which bet should I use for All on Red?

Use an 18-number even-money bet (Red, Black, Odd, Even, High, Low). Every indexed bet has the same EV, but the 18-number bets have the highest completion probability per qualifying attempt at 18/37 ≈ 48.65%. A single number is only 1/37 ≈ 2.70%.

No

All on Red needs a win. Ball in Motion does not: every $1 wagered moves the challenge by $1. Bet type does not change wager progress, only variance.

Use an 18-number even-money bet if your priority is lower variance while accumulating wager. It does not have a better EV — it is the same EV with smaller swings.

The spins still resolve as normal Roulette, so an 18-number bet keeps the swings smaller while you accumulate wager.

Items that actually matter

Items change settlement, bankroll risk, or challenge throughput. They do not change the indexed Roulette odds.

Golden Chip

If the wager tracker records a free bet as wager, a Golden Chip can reduce real bankroll exposure during Ball in Motion. Verify the current tracker behavior before relying on it.

Taser

A higher MaxBet means fewer spins to reach a quota × 50% wager target. This is challenge throughput, not better Roulette odds.

Gambler's Confidence

It can scale a positive settlement, but it does not change outcome probability. Red is still 18/37 and a single number is still 1/37.

Holy Statue

Players discuss it as loss protection or a risk-profile change. That is bankroll risk, not a change to Roulette probability.

Hot and cold number myths

  • Myth17 has not hit in a while, so it is due.

No. The indexed model gives every result 0–36 the same base probability each resolved spin.

  • MythRed hit five times, so Black is due.

No. Past results do not change the next spin in the verified indexed model.

Can previous spins predict the next Roulette result?

No.

The verified indexed model gives every result 0–36 the same base probability each resolved spin. No verified mechanic shows that past outcomes change future results. Save/reload persistence is a separate question and belongs on the save guide.

FAQ

How does Roulette work in Gamble With Your Friends?

A spin resolves one indexed result from 0 to 36. Each indexed bet type wins on the results it covers and pays the table multiplier.

How many Roulette numbers are there?

There are 37 outcomes, 0 through 36.

Does GWYF Roulette have zero?

Yes. Zero is one of the 37 indexed results and is excluded from the standard color, parity and range groups.

What happens to Red or Black when 0 hits?

Zero is not Red or Black, so even-money color bets lose. The same is true for Odd/Even and High/Low.

What is the best Roulette bet?

There is no single best bet. Every indexed bet has the same gross return. Pick by goal: hit rate, payout size, variance, or the challenge you are completing.

Is Red better than Black?

No. Red and Black cover the same 18 results and pay the same 2×.

Is Odd better than Even?

No. Odd and Even are identical to Red and Black in coverage and payout.

Which Roulette bet has the highest chance to win?

The 18-number even-money bets — Red, Black, Odd, Even, High, Low — each hit 18/37 ≈ 48.65%.

Which Roulette bet pays the most?

A single number pays 36× gross, the largest payout in the indexed table.

What is the Roulette RTP?

Every indexed bet returns 36/37 = 97.2972973% gross, or roughly 97.30%.

Why does every indexed bet have the same expected return?

Each bet is the same win chance × payout fraction. 18/37 × 2, 1/37 × 36 and 12/37 × 3 all equal 36/37.

What is the exact Roulette house edge?

The net edge is −1/37 = −2.7027027%. The missing slot is 0, which the even-money groups do not cover.

Is a single number worse than Red?

It is not worse on expected return — both are 36/37. It is worse on hit rate and variance: 1/37 versus 18/37.

What are the odds of a single number?

1/37 ≈ 2.7027%, and it pays 36× gross.

What are the odds of a dozen?

12/37 ≈ 32.4324%, and it pays 3× gross.

What are the odds of a column?

A column covers 12 results, the same as a dozen: 12/37 ≈ 32.4324% at 3× gross.

Does GWYF have Split bets?

No. Split is not in the verified GWYF payout table, so this guide does not assign it odds.

Does GWYF have Street bets?

No. Street is not in the verified GWYF payout table.

Does GWYF Roulette use real casino rules?

The math structure is close to European Roulette, but GWYF only exposes a verified subset of indexed bet types. Use the game’s own mapping instead of importing outside casino rules.

What is All on Red?

A Floor 1 achievement: bet at least 10% of the current quota on Roulette in a single wager and win once. It rewards 4 tickets.

Does All on Red actually require betting Red?

No. The extracted condition is a qualifying Roulette win, not a Red selection. The name does not add a bet-type rule.

How much do I need to wager for All on Red?

A single wager of at least 10% of the current quota. The dollar amount changes as the quota changes, so it is not a fixed number.

Which bet should I use for All on Red?

An 18-number even-money bet, because it has the highest completion probability per attempt at 18/37 ≈ 48.65%.

What is Ball in Motion?

A Floor 4 achievement: wager a total of 50% of the current quota on Roulette. It rewards 13 tickets and does not require a win.

How much do I need to wager for Ball in Motion?

A cumulative total equal to 50% of the current quota, across as many spins as you need.

Do I need to win for Ball in Motion?

No. Only the wager total counts, so losing spins still make progress.

Which bet is best for Ball in Motion?

Any bet makes the same wager progress. An 18-number even-money bet keeps the swings smaller while you accumulate volume.

Does Taser help Ball in Motion?

Indirectly. A higher MaxBet means fewer spins to reach the total wager target, which is challenge throughput rather than better odds.

Does Golden Chip count toward wager progress?

Only if the wager tracker records a free bet as wager. Verify the current tracker behavior; this page does not assume it.

Does Holy Statue change Roulette odds?

There is no verified change to Roulette probability. Players discuss it as a risk-profile change, which is separate.

Are hot and cold numbers real?

No. The verified indexed model gives every result 0–36 the same base probability each spin.

Does Black become more likely after several Reds?

No. Past results do not change the next spin in the verified model.

Can I save scum Roulette?

Reload and seed behavior is not claimed here. That question belongs on the save guide.
