Gamble With Your Friends has an active Thunderstore modding community. The easiest route is a Thunderstore-compatible mod manager; many mods use BepInEx, but multiplayer requirements differ from mod to mod. Start by choosing what you want to change.

There are two routes: a mod manager (recommended) or a manual BepInEx install.
There is no single best mod. These are grouped by the problem they solve.
Vanilla supports up to 6 players. GambleMaxPlayers removes that cap, defaults to 10, and lets you raise it further. Only the host has to install it, but all players running it keeps the HUD consistent.

Gameplay-changing mods can invalidate vanilla strategy data. That is not a bug in the guide; it is simply a different game state.

Yes. The community publishes mods on Thunderstore for GWYF, and the listing has grown into a full ecosystem with a mod manager and BepInEx.
The community listing on Thunderstore is the main source. This page links out to it rather than mirroring every file.
The game does not ship a mod menu. The community uses Thunderstore as its distribution site, and Thunderstore-compatible managers install from there.
Easiest: use a Thunderstore-compatible mod manager, pick the game, create a profile, and install with dependencies. Manual route: install BepInEx, run the game once, then drop the mod DLL into BepInEx/plugins.
The Thunderstore community lists a mod manager as the recommended tool for the game. Confirm the current manager and game entry on the listing before you start.
Many GWYF mods depend on BepInEx, but not all of them. Always check the dependency list on the specific mod page.
Vanilla caps a lobby at 6. GambleMaxPlayers removes that cap, defaults to 10 players, and lets you configure it higher. That is modded behaviour, not an official limit change.
It depends on the mod. Some are host-side and guests benefit automatically, some are client-only, and some make every player install the same version. Check the “who needs it” label on each mod.
For gameplay-changing mods, often yes. PersistentUpgrades and MoreUpgrades, for example, run server-authoritative logic, so the host must install them for the change to apply.
Yes. Upgrade and payout mods change shop entries, upgrade lifetimes, or machine behaviour. When they are active, vanilla numbers on this site may no longer match your run.
The usual causes are launching the vanilla game instead of the modded profile, a missing loader or dependency, or a mod that has not been updated. Work through the checks on this page in order.
Not automatically. An update can break a mod until its author updates it. Check the mod page for a recent release before assuming it is compatible.
